The Little Blue Kite

Riya loved flying her small blue kite on the terrace. Every evening, she watched big kites dance high in the sky. Her kite often dipped and fell. “It’s too small,” some kids said. Riya felt sad, but she did not give up.

One day, her grandmother smiled and said, “Even small things can rise with patience.” Riya listened carefully. She practiced holding the string gently and waited for the right wind. She learned when to pull and when to let go.

The next evening, the wind blew softly. Riya ran a little, lifted her kite, and followed her grandmother’s words. The kite wobbled, then climbed. Higher and higher it went, painting the sky with blue. Riya’s eyes sparkled.

Soon, other children gathered and cheered. Riya laughed, not because she was the best, but because she believed in herself. She shared the string so everyone could feel the joy.

When the sun went down, Riya carefully folded her kite. She knew the secret now. Being small did not mean being weak. With practice, kindness, and belief, even a little blue kite can touch the sky.
