The Empty Notebook

Meera was a shy girl who loved to draw, but she never showed her sketches to anyone. One day, her art teacher gave every student a brand-new notebook and said, ‘Fill these pages with your imagination.’

While others quickly drew colourful pictures, Meera left her notebook empty. She was afraid people would laugh at her work. Weeks passed, and her notebook remained untouched.

One afternoon, the teacher noticed her blank pages and gently asked, ‘Why haven’t you drawn anything?’ Meera whispered, ‘What if it’s not good enough?’

Smiling, the teacher picked up the empty notebook and said, ‘An empty page is not a mistake—it’s an opportunity. The world will never know your talent unless you share it.’ Inspired, Meera went home and began to draw one small picture each day. At first, they weren’t perfect, but slowly her lines grew confident, and her imagination flowed.

By the end of the year, her notebook was filled with beautiful sketches. When the school held an art exhibition, Meera’s notebook became the highlight. She finally realised her art was worth sharing.

Moral: Don’t let fear stop you from trying. Every talent grows only when you dare to begin filling your ‘empty pages.’
