The Broken Kite

Aarav loved flying kites. One afternoon, while practising for the school kite festival, his kite was torn apart by the strong wind. He felt upset and almost gave up, thinking he would never win. His grandfather, seeing his disappointment, gently said, ‘A torn kite can still teach you how to fly. Don’t quit, repair it and try again.’

Aarav carefully mended the kite with tape and patience. The next day, he practised harder, learning how to handle strong winds. On the day of the festival, while many shiny new kites broke and fell, Aarav’s repaired kite soared the highest.

Everyone clapped, but Aarav realised the real victory was not winning the prize—it was learning resilience. He understood that setbacks don’t mean the end; they are lessons that make us stronger.

From that day, Aarav carried a smile whenever things went wrong. He knew broken kites could still touch the sky.
