The Clock That Dreamed

In a small shop full of ticking clocks, there was one little clock that always ran slow. The shopkeeper often sighed, saying, “You’ll never be as good as the others.” The little clock felt sad. It wished it could keep perfect time like its shiny neighbours.

One night, when the shop was dark and quiet, the clock whispered to the moon, “I just want to be useful.” The moon smiled and said, “Sometimes, being different has its own magic.”

The next morning, a tired traveller entered the shop. He needed to catch a train but had arrived too early. He sat down near the little slow clock and fell asleep. When he woke up, he saw the clock and realised he had just enough time to catch his train!

He rushed out, thanking the shopkeeper. The little clock glowed with pride — its slow ticking had saved someone’s day. From then on, it never wished to be like the others again.

That night, the moon winked and whispered, “See? Even slow time has purpose.”

Moral: You don’t have to be perfect to make a difference — just be true to yourself.
