The Monkey King

Long ago, a troop of monkeys lived near a river where a mango tree grew. Their leader, the Monkey King, was wise and brave. One day, the king of a nearby land saw the juicy mangoes and wanted the tree for himself.

He sent his soldiers to kill the monkeys and take over the tree. Seeing this, the Monkey King quickly formed a plan. He stretched his body like a bridge across the river so his troop could safely cross to the other side.

All the monkeys escaped, but the king was badly hurt. One of his monkeys, filled with pride, jumped on his back and broke his spine.

The human king watched everything and was moved by the Monkey King’s sacrifice. He helped the monkey king in his final moments and promised to be a just ruler.

Moral: A true leader puts others before himself. Sacrifice is the highest form of love.
